Earl Jordan and Pastor Marcus Campbell
fortifying these moms who've lost their children to violence in our community   It was hard to smile but I know the Lord is with them.

Watch the movie Beyond the Lights, support Black Film.

Certainly did enjoy having the film's director  and writer Gina Prince-Bythewood on the show with the film's star Nate Parker.

The pair was in the Ville and at Fisk for a advance screening with the International Black Film Festival.

We covered a lot during the interview.  The students loved it!    (November 2014)

This was a great show (7-16/14) with activist and educator Tim Wise when he returned to the show recently to discuss America's problem with racism, hate and bigotry.
Economic class issues were also included in this lively conversation my listeners loved it and so did I.

"On my show we're not afraid to talk race and color. I live in a colorful world", Kay said.

Nashville Mayor Karl Dean gives us the 411 on the city's new status as a "hot spot" or "great place to live".  Nashville is seeing super growth in terms of industry and excitement for sports, new convention center and music industry.

What's the 411 with Sharon Kay Show listeners knew almost a year ago about the new show on Bravo TV starring the Tankards of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

"Ben was one of the first guests I had on the 411 show when I started it almost 13-years ago", said Sharon Kay.  He's always been willing to talk music, ministry and a variety of subjects on the 411 Show over the years with me and even a few times he's talked with my mom on the phone about gospel jazz. Kay said she is very happy for Ben and his family and wishes them the best.

"Thicker Than Water" airs Sunday evening after the Housewives of Atlanta (a really super spot too) features Ben Tankard -- known as the Godfather of the Gospel Jazz music scene -- is the genre's best-selling artist/producer of all-time.

Sharon Kay enlists the help of Miss Fisk & SGA President in offering tour to Jeffrey Osborne when he came by to visit JAZZY 88 in 2013.

"When I ask people to come by, I never know if they're actually going to do it when they come to Nashville, said Kay, our door is always open to our friends in the industry."

The students could not believe it when they met him one said "are you the whoa-whoa man, you know the song?"
